Dr. Tolulope Oyeniyi is a Molecular Entomologist and Cell Biologist. He is a Research Fellow at the Department of Public Health and Epidemiology, Nigerian Institute of Medical Research, Lagos, Nigeria. He has B.Tech. and M.Sc. in Biochemistry and obtained Ph.D. in Cell Biology and Genetics, specializing in Cell and Molecular Biology. He is an early-career researcher whose focus is on insect vectors of public health significance, particularly application of omics to insecticide resistance mechanisms. Notably, he was the first to report a synergistic effect of the emerging N1575Y allele with the established L1014F allele in the pyrethroid resistance phenotype of Anopheles gambiae s.l. in Nigeria.

He manages Nigeria’s reference laboratory for molecular entomology that supports the National Malaria Elimination Programme (NMEP). He has facilitated various collaborative projects such as ABT Global/PMI Evolve malaria entomology surveillance project, Global Fund Entomology Surveillance Project, US-Naval Medical Research Unit and Malaria Consortium Entomology Projects.
