Dr. Ifeoluwa Oyeyemi is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Biosciences and Biotechnology at the University of Medical Sciences, Ondo, Nigeria. She holds both an M.Sc. and Ph.D. in Zoology (Cell Biology and Genetics) from the University of Ibadan, Nigeria. Dr. Oyeyemi is an active researcher with global collaborations and has received multiple research fellowships at the pre-doctoral and post-doctoral levels. In 2023, she was recognized with the Best Women Researcher Award by the Merck Foundation. Her work is further supported by various research grants, and she has authored numerous publications in leading international journals. She is also a Fellow of the Nigerian Young Academy.
Dr. Oyeyemi’s research expertise is in Genetics and Molecular Toxicology, with a focus on drug discovery for chronic diseases. Her work explores the modulatory effects of drug compounds on the molecular pathways involved in chronic disease development. She is dedicated to identifying new small molecules or repurposing existing drugs to treat chronic conditions, aiming to reduce the global burden of these diseases through innovative drug discovery.
