GMTP is an intensive training programme designed to strengthen the capacity of early-career Nigerian researchers in research proposal development, grantsmanship, scientific writing, and mentorship.
The programme equips participants with practical skills needed to secure research funding and build sustainable research careers — while embedding them in a growing network of Nigerian health scientists.
Online application portal opens. Candidates submit biosketch, concept note, motivation letter, and institutional details.
All applications and supporting documents (including recommendation letters) must be received.
Applications reviewed by the GMTP Scientific Committee against published selection criteria.
Shortlisted candidates may be invited for interviews. Final cohort selected and notified.
Residential training workshops commence with all selected fellows and assigned mentors.

GMTP mentors are experienced senior researchers and academics who guide fellows through proposal development, manuscript writing, and career planning — with mentorship continuing beyond the training period.
