Dr Kayode Ajayi is an Associate Professor of Human Nutrition and former Acting Head of the Department of Human Nutrition and Dietetics, College of Medicine and Health Sciences, Afe Babalola University, Ado-Ekiti, Ekiti State, Nigeria.  Dr Ajayi’s educational background includes a B.Sc. M.Sc. and Ph.D. in Human Nutrition from the University of Ibadan, Nigeria. His research interests include Human Nutrition, Clinical Nutrition, Public Health and Community Nutrition, Food Science, Nutrition Policy, International Nutrition, Nutrition Microbiology, Nutrition and Food system, Nutrition and Gut microbiome, etc. Dr Ajayi holds several academic and professional qualifications, such as Grantsmanship and Mentorship Training by the Nigeria Institute of Medical Research (NIMR), a Certificate in scientific writing for publication, Academic staff Capacity Development on Modern Teaching methods and Pedagogy, etc.

He has won research and academic grants, including the International Union of Nutrition Scientists (IUNS) Young Scientist Grant, the Nutrition Society FANUS-NS Fellowship Award, and the African Nutrition Leadership Programme Grant. He has published in renowned journals and is also an invited reviewer to peer-reviewed journals. Dr Ajayi is a member of several learned societies such as the American Society for Nutrition (ASN), the Nutrition Society (NS) in the United Kingdom, the African Nutrition Society (ANS), the Nutrition Society of Nigerian (NSN), an alumnus of African Nutrition Leadership Programme (ANLP) South Africa.  One of my goals is to develop a novel nutritional intervention for people with peculiar nutritional needs by collaborating closely with stakeholders to ensure the intervention’s feasibility and promote societal health and well-being.
